Joe Gintoli to Administer
IAABO Charitable & Education Foundation Public Relations

IAABO Charitable & Education Foundation President Bill Varno has announced that IAABO Past President Joe Gintoli (Bd. 9 Connecticut) has been appointed to the position of Administrator for Public Relations effective January 1, 2019.

“We are very excited that Joe will be involved with the Foundation in this new role. We look forward to Joe bringing the same organizational and leadership skills he has shown for the last 15 years as an officer and Executive Committee member of IAABO, Inc., to the mission of the Foundation,” said Varno.
Established in 1982, the IAABO Charitable & Education Foundation's principal objective is to support IAABO, Inc. in the instruction and education of individuals in the various facets of basketball officiating.  Their emphasis is on training individuals interested in joining IAABO, as well as to assist current IAABO members looking to increase their skill level in basketball officiating through completion of attendance at a certified IAABO school.

Said Gintoli, "Since 1982 the Foundation has awarded financial scholarships to nearly every IAABO member who has completed a certified IAABO school. In the fall of 2018,  a $10,000 charitable donation was made by the Foundation to the American Cancer Society due to the great support of IAABO members and friends through the 2018 car raffle. Most recently, the Foundation partnered with IAABO, Inc. to provide the new state-of-the-art online Axon program for all 16,000-plus IAABO members. We look forward to expanding our mission to do more for IAABO members as the Foundation grows.”

"I thank the Foundation's leadership and Trustees for the opportunity in this new role  to help expand the mission of the Foundation. I look forward to working with the leadership of IAABO, Inc., local IAABO boards and members, and additional opportunities outside of IAABO to grow the Foundation.”

The Foundation is a registered non-profit organization. The Foundation accepts donations and grants to help support their initiatives.

Game Tracker Journal
You have likely heard the saying, “a goal without a plan is just a wish,” and this age-old adage rings so true for all people pursuing all types of endeavors.
And for basketball officials embarking on the 2017-2018 season absent a basic strategy on how to achieve a stated desire -- a better schedule; advancement to the next level -- you are in a rudderless boat on an open sea hoping the winds of fate blow you to your destination.

Seeking officiating success described in this manner seems laughable, but yet many officials take this approach with their beloved avocation.

But Ref, don’t panic now...Help is on the way in the form of the new, and first of its kind, GameTracker Journal.

This latest publication from long time IAABO members Billy Martin, Tim Malloy and Al Battista, the creators of Ref60.com, is an innovative tool that provides a template for every basketball official, at every level, to create your own realistic roadmap helping to guide you to your desired destination - one game at a time.
